Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz
 Keynote speaker: Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz

Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz is the Professor of Development and Stem Cells at the University of Cambridge and a Bren Professor of Biology and Biological Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. Spanning the past 25 years, research from the Zernicka-Goetz lab has broken new ground in studies of human embryo development in vitro, cell fate specification in mouse embryos, and the creation of synthetic embryos from multiple stem cell types. Zernicka-Goetz Lab aims to uncover the fundamental principles and molecular mechanisms that regulate cell identity, pluripotency, and embryo plasticity, size, shape, and self-organization.

*This session is organised by the Young Researcher Committee (YoRC) of EZS. It will be an avenue for early-career zebrafish researchers to creatively present their work and discuss matters such as Mental Health in the life of a scientist.

**This session is organised by the Environmental Sustainability Committee (ESC) of the IZFS. With the ongoing climate crisis, we as scientists must act immediately to find sustainable solutions for our labs. ESC is looking for Poster abstracts submissions on sustainability, pollution and environment: including research, initiatives and lab updates. With your help we will work towards a sustainable future in science.
